Powers and permissions.
You decide what GENI may do, and what always waits for you. Here is how.
Switch powers on and off
Every power has its own switch. Turn one off and the tool simply does not exist for GENI any more: there is nothing it can bend.
What always waits for your yes
GENI asks only for things you cannot undo, or that leave the building. Everything else it just does, so you are not trained to click yes without reading.
- Deleting something
- Publishing or deploying
- Sending mail or posting on your behalf
- Money: payments and refunds
- Passwords and keys
- Changing your domain settings
The card shows exactly what will happen, with the recipient and the amount, never a secret. Answer yes, no, or "no, do it like this".
If you do not answer
After two minutes GENI lets you know something is waiting. The question stays open a while longer; if you still do not answer, it does not happen.
Rules in plain language
Say "From now on, ask me before any mail goes out" or "never post on social media". GENI checks your rules before every action. A rule can only make it stricter. Ask "What rules do you have?" to see them; removing one needs your yes.
Always allow
Some cards offer Always allow, so GENI stops asking for that tool. It never appears for deploys, money, keys, domain settings, deleting, the address book or looking at your screen. Those stay your yes, every time.
